Genovo Suitability Report New Features & Updates (2.6) July 2025
Ed Evans
With the dust having barely settled on our last release (2.5) in April, we’ve got yet another bumper set of updates and new features for you this time around as we continue to rapidly push forward with our mission:
-
“To realise a comprehensive and fully-integrated solution that allows our users to create highly personalised, reader-friendly and compliant reports in a fraction of the time it takes when using more traditional methods (like manual templates) and without the limitations of more contemporary methods (such as pure play AI-generated reports).”
For us, this mission is a journey…. which is all about making you – our users – more productive.
We believe there are many ways this can be achieved (e.g. enhanced workflows, tighter and more extensive integrations with third party apps), but one way is undoubtedly leveraging the benefits of AI to further augment the current Genovo solution…..
In the context of compliant suitability report writing, we see AI as an extremely powerful assistant to aid productivity – rather than a replacement to human involvement in the report writing process. In our humble opinion, suitability report writing – for all but relatively simple advice scenarios – will for some time yet still be human-led. Let’s be honest – proper financial planning just isn’t that simple!
So what exciting news features can you expect to find the next time you log in to Genovo?
Say hello to Gena
I am genuinely excited (and I’m not a man who’s known for his effusiveness!) to be able to officially introduce you to Gena – the Genovo AI Assistant – our own proprietary AI technology.
We have big plans for Gena! Over the coming months and years you will see Gena introduced into the Genovo app in a range of ways to help further speed up the report building process.
A new report creation method
Our first Gena-powered feature (which is still in beta, but now available to all users) is a new streamlined report creation method that automates the creation of the initial framework of a report from a user’s brief free text prompt.

For example, on entering the following prompt:
“Switch Simon’s existing PPP with L&G and Aviva into a new SIPP with Transact, and top up Susan’s Transact ISA”.
Gena will determine:
- The best report type for this advice scenario (a Suitability Report);
- Automatically insert the required sections (Pension Review, Investment Review, New Pension Recommendation and Recommended Investment Strategy) into the Report Builder; and
- Import the required plans into the appropriate report sections (assuming the user has an active integration set up and the client is integrated).
To help you get started, we’ve put together an article containing tips on how to write effective advice scenario prompts. You’ll find the article in the Genovo Knowledge Base.
Predictive plan charges
Our second Gena-powered feature is predictive plan charges. We know that adding plan charges can be one of the more tedious and time-consuming aspects of the report creation process, so I’m delighted that, on adding a plan into a review section in Report Builder, we can now harness the power of Gena to offer up suggested Product, Platform, Adviser and Investment-related charges within the Current Plan Charges step.

You’ll find everything you need to know about predictive plan charges in the Genovo Knowledge Base.

Extended back-office integrations
We’re always looking for ways to reduce the re-keying of data for our users, so I’m delighted to announce a number of significant enhancements to our integrations with intelliflo office and Curo.
Intelliflo office enhancements
Client objectives
It is now possible to pull a client’s ‘Goals & Objectives’ from intelliflo office into the Client Objectives and Review of Client Objectives steps in the Introduction section in Genovo.

Each objective selected will be inserted as a report-only advice option, with any content included in the ‘Details’ field in intelliflo inserted into the ‘Know Your Client Information’ / ‘Further Information’ field in Genovo.

Assets and Liabilities
It is also now possible, with the click of a button, to populate the Assets & Liabilities and IHT Position step in the Introduction section in Genovo using the ‘assets’ and ‘plans’ data you have stored against a client in intelliflo office.

For further information about the enhancements we’ve made to our integration with intelliflo office, check out the Genovo Knowledge Base.
Curo enhancements
Our integration with Curo has also been extended – it is now possible to pull plans into all the recommendation sections.
You’ll find further information regarding what plan-related data is now available via the Curo integration in the Genovo Knowledge Base.
Brand themes
We’ve had a few requests for this one over the years, so I’m delighted to announce that it is now possible to create multiple brand themes within your Genovo account.

A brand theme is a pre-configured collection of formatting choices including logos, colours, fonts and other styling choices, which can be set up within your Genovo account, and then – with the click of a button – applied as a “skin” to a report at the point of generating it.
All Genovo accounts provide the functionality to create one brand theme, as standard. However, it is now possible to purchase a ‘feature bolt-on’ to your subscription which will allow you create multiple brand themes within your Genovo account. This is particularly useful for:
- Advice companies that operate different brands.
- Advice companies with multiple branches with different “identities”.
- Freelance paraplanning companies that work for multiple advice companies.
You’ll find everything you need to know about brand themes in this new dedicated section in the Genovo Knowledge Base.
If you’d like this feature added to your account, just drop us a support ticket and we’ll get that sorted for you.
Investment Strategies > Aggregated Weighted Average Charge
A new auto-calculated ‘Total Recurring Charge’ field has been added to both Current and Recommended Investment Strategies. When creating an investment strategy, an ‘Aggregated Weighted Average Charge’ (AWAC) will be automatically calculated and displayed if:
- A ‘Total Recurring Charge’ can be calculated for each investment; and
- The Allocation of all investments totals 100%.

When an AWAC can be calculated for a Current Investment Strategy, this figure will be automatically inserted Into the ‘Investment Management Charge’ field for the plan in the Current Plan Charges step that follows, and the monetary charge equivalent automatically calculated, thereby saving you the need to rekey this figure.

Speech-to-text dictation
Speech-to-text functionality has been added in over 40 places in various steps of the report creation process. It is generally available in steps where you might need to add a larger amount of text – where dictating might be easier than typing.

You’ll find more information about this new speech-to-text functionality in the Genovo Knowledge Base.
Other bits and pieces
And if that wasn’t enough, we’ve also:
Report Editor
Added a spell checker to the Report Editor. Apologies, I’m still not sure how none of us here at Genovo thought to include this in the original requirements for the Report Editor, but better late than never!
Putting the missing spell checker to one side, we’ve received some really encouraging feedback regarding the Report Editor since it was launched back in April. However, we are conscious that not all companies have had the opportunity to incorporate this new way of working into their processes as yet.
If you do have any questions about how to adopt this game changing functionality within your company, please don’t hesitate to get in touch as always, we’d be more than happy to help!
Report Content Manager
Added a new search function to the Report Content Manager to make it even easier to locate the snippet containing the report content you want to edit.
Review Report 2.0
Added the Executive Summary section into the Review Report 2.0.
Executive Summary > Transfer value
Added the ‘Transfer value’ field into the auto-generated ‘Existing plans being reviewed’ table in the Executive Summary.
Client Library
Added functionality to the Client Library that allows you and your users to:
- Bulk reassign a user’s clients and reports to another user within your account.
- Bulk delete a user’s client and reports.
2.6 release webinar
We recently ran a couple of webinars during which Nigel Ogram, our Head of Technical and Implementation, provided a sneak preview of all the exciting new features included this release. If you missed them, you can watch a replay here.
Coming soon…..
Although we’re very excited by what we’ve managed to achieve thus far, this is only the start of our AI journey. Looking to the near future, we’ve already started investigating the possibility of extending Gena’s capabilities to “ingest” key documents from the advice process to pre-populate ever more data points within the Report Builder.
At Genovo, we’re very proud of the fact that our users have always been at the heart of our software development process. If you’d like to take a more active role in our exciting journey and help shape the direction of the Genovo product, please get in touch and let’s fix up a 15-30 minute online chat – we’d love to hear your thoughts and ideas.
