How to add a back page to your reports in Genovo
Nigel Ogram
As you’d expect, all Genovo reports have a front page, which we call the Report Title Page. Each of the five different report types in Genovo has its own report title page, which can be customised using Report Content Manager.
When Genovo v2 was released, amongst the many new features we added was Report Title Page Image. This (as the name suggests) is the facility to add a background image to your report title page. The feature is included as standard for Company Plan Mini or above, and as a bolt-on extra (for just £5 + VAT per month) for Solo plans and Company Starter plans.
Although report title pages are now sorted, we’ve recently received a support ticket asking if it would be possible to add the facility to include a report back page. Although there is no dedicated back page functionality as there is for report title pages, it can actually be achieved within standard Genovo functionality. We thought it was a great question, so we thought we’d write a quick ‘how to’ blog on it.
So, how is it done?
Another of the great new features we added in Genovo v2 is Report Section Manager. It’s another of those ‘does what it says on the tin’ features and allows Account Owners or Account Admins of a Genovo account to manage the sections that appear in Genovo reports and add their own custom sections. As with Report Title Page Image, this feature is included at no extra cost for some plan types (Company Plan Midi or above) and as a bolt-on extra for £25 + VAT per month for all other plans.
Note that if you don’t have Report Section Manager and you’d rather not subscribe to the bolt-on, we have a chargeable customisation service where you can ask us to create a custom section for you, and you can then edit the snippets as required. Just get in touch with your requirements and we’ll let you know the costs.
Using Report Section Manager, it’s really easy to add a new section called ‘Back Page’. This can be a single section that’s available to all five Genovo report types, or if required, you can create a separate back page for each report type. In the example below, the custom section applies to all report types.

Make sure that you select the ‘Automatically included in report’ option, so that the new back page section is always included and doesn’t need to be added from the Available sections drop-down list in Report Builder.
Once the section has been created, you can then use Report Content Manager to edit the snippet that carries the content for the new back page.

In this simple example, I’ve added:
- A regulatory statement at the bottom of the page
- The company name (using the {CompanyName} report tag from the Summary of Genovo report tags)
- The ‘Independent Financial Adviser’ logo

After a bit of experimentation to get the regulatory statement as close to the bottom of the page as possible, the downloaded report looks like this:

The Genovo Knowledge Base
As you’ve probably come to expect, we have entire Knowledge Base sections dedicated to Report Section Manager and Report Content Manager, which as you’ve also probably come to expect, include short but really informative video tutorials. These 20 Knowledge Base articles will tell you everything you need to know about how to use Report Section Manager and Report Content Manager to make your reports your own.
Nigel’s knowledge
The ability for you (rather than us) to customise your account is one of the many benefits of Genovo over the competition. There are many aspects of Genovo that you can make your own and are all covered in the Customisation section of the Genovo Knowledge Base.
Sometimes, customisation involves several elements of Genovo’s functionality, as is shown in this Knowledge Base article on customising your report title page, using half a dozen different features.
