Genovo Suitability Report New Features & Updates (2.8) May 2026

Ed Evans

I’m delighted to announce that we’ve got another bumper release for you this month packed full of new features and enhancements to existing functionality that will allow you to:

  • create your reports even more quickly; and
  • customise / configure your reports to even more closely reflect the way you want them to come out – meaning the ‘draft’ report will require even less editing when it’s downloaded from Genovo.

So what exciting new features can you expect to find the next time you log in to Genovo?

Account Settings

We’ve added a new dedicated Account Settings page which you can access from the Account Admin dashboard. It allows Account Owners and Account Admins to easily manage the security and other app preferences for their account from one handy centralised location.

Existing settings

We’ve moved a number of existing settings that were previously dotted around the app into this page, including the ability to:

New settings

We’ve also added a number of new settings, so you can now control, for all the users on your account, whether:

You’ll find everything you need to know about Account Settings in a new dedicated section in the Genovo Knowledge Base.

Customisable report headers

You’ve been able to customise your report footers for a little while now, so it felt like a natural progression to extend this functionality to also include report headers. However, thanks must go to all the users who have expressed a desire for this functionality and given us the nudge we needed to add it! πŸ˜‰

Customisable report headers & footers are included as standard at no extra cost for accounts that subscribe to the Company Plan Midi or Company Plan Maxi plan. All other plan types can purchase this feature as a one-off bolt-on.

You’ll find everything you need to know about report headers & footers in the Genovo Knowledge Base.

New ‘quick view / action’ CIS functionality

We owe a huge debt of gratitude to one of the many highly-engaged companies that use Genovo (you know who you are! πŸ˜‰ ) for this new feature, as it was born out of a particularly enlightening “user feedback” session we had with them a few months back….

We’ve added the Current Investment Strategy (CIS) field to the main Plan Summary step of the three review sections to make it:

  • clearer to see whether a plan has a CIS (and what the CIS name is) without having to navigate through to the Edit Plan modal; and
  • quicker and easier to select and make changes to a plan’s CIS.

In summary, it is now possible from within the main page of the Plan Summary step to:

  • Add a new CIS to a plan.
  • Select an existing CIS for a plan.
  • Edit the existing CIS of a plan.

All without having to navigate through to the Edit Plan window – saving numerous clicks in the process!

You’ll find everything you need to know about Current Investment Strategies in the Genovo Knowledge Base.

Recommended Action step enhancements

We’ve made a couple of significant changes to the Recommended Action step.

Firstly, we’ve made it much clearer to see which Recommended Action(s) and Advice Reason(s) have been selected for a plan.

Secondly, we’re conscious that for some, or all of the plans being reviewed, it’s not uncommon for the recommendations being made and the reason(s) for those recommendations to be identical – or at least very similar.

Therefore, to help streamline both the report creation process and the report output, it is now possible to copy the Recommended Action(s) and associated Advice Reason(s) from one plan to one or more other plans in the same review section.

You’ll find everything you need to know about this new functionality in the Genovo Knowledge Base.

New report creation method > Clone report

Within Genovo, you’ve always be able to clone a report from within a client’s report library. However, we wanted to bring this highly useful, but frequently over-looked, functionality “front and centre” and hence we’ve added it as a new 5th report creation method.

You’ll find everything you need to know about cloning a report in the Genovo Knowledge Base.

Other bits and pieces

And if that wasn’t enough, we’ve also made changes to the following:

Manage users

We’ve enhanced the Manage users page so you can:

  • easily search and sort your users using the column headings.
  • see which of your users have an active integration, and with whom.

New product types

We’ve added the following new product types:

  • Junior SIPP to the pension review and new pension recommendation sections.
  • Group Critical Illness Insurance, Group Income Protection and Group Life Insurance to the protection review section.

New section names

Within Genovo, there are two pension review sections and two pension recommendation sections – one section is designed to cover uncrystallised pensions, the other crystallised or partly-crystallised pensions. To make it clearer when you should use each section we’ve renamed the two pension review sections.

2.8 release webinar

We recently ran a webinar during which Nigel Ogram, our Head of Technical and Implementation, provided a sneak preview of all the exciting new features included this release. In case you missed it, you can watch a replay here.

Coming soon

New features

We’ve got a couple of exciting new features we’re working on at the moment which we hope to have available for you shortly.

A custom-built Word plugin

Much like the current Report Editor functionality, this will allow Writer and Reader users to collaborate securely on a ‘draft’ report, but within the familiarity of Word, with all edits and interactions syncing back to Genovo – meaning there’s no need to save the report locally.

Gena document upload

We will be extending the power of Gena (the Genovo AI Assistant) to pre-populate ever more fields within the Genovo Report Builder with data extracted from key documents from the advice process. The first of these documents will be a client meeting note.

Price rises

We just wanted to give you the heads-up that the cost of all Genovo plans will be increasing for new sign-ups and upgrades from 1st July 2026, as will the cost of adding an extra Writer User to an account.

So, if you’re considering upgrading your Plan, or just need some extra users adding to your account, we’d suggest actioning this sooner rather than later to lock in the current price before they rise in July.Β Β

Get involved – User feedback sessions

Finally, at Genovo, we’re very proud of the fact that our users have always been at the heart of our software development process. If you’d like to take a more active role in our exciting journey and help shape the direction of the Genovo product, please get in touch and let’s fix up a 15-30 minute online chat – we’d love to hear your thoughts and ideas.
