Genovo Suitability Report New Features & Updates (2.9) September 2026

Last year, when we introduced Gena – the Genovo AI assistant, we promised you AI-powered features that cut through the hype and delivered tangible productivity gains.

Since then we’ve harnessed the power of Gena to bring you:

• Predictive plan charges which offers up suggested plan charges when a plan is added into a review section; and
• AI-powered report creation which automates the creation of the initial framework of a report from a simple free-text prompt.

We’ve been delighted to see that both features have been widely adopted and are delivering measurable time savings for our users. However, they were just the start. Our next AI-powered feature has the potential to truly transform the way you create your reports.

Introducing Gena document upload

The idea behind Gena Document Upload is beautifully simple:

Upload key documents from the advice process (that you already have) and let Gena do the heavy lifting! Gena will extract relevant information from these documents and automatically populate your report.

The result? Less manual data entry and even faster report production.

Starting with meeting notes

Meeting notes are a rich source of information for suitability reports. Given the growing adoption of AI meeting note solutions across the advice profession, they were the natural starting point for Gena document upload.

Irrespective of the report creation method selected, you can now upload a meeting note as part of the report creation process and Gena will analyse the content and automatically extract and populate your report with information relating to the client’s:

• Circumstances;
• Financial objectives;
• Existing arrangements;
• Risk profile;
• Knowledge and experience;
• Investment preferences;
• Emergency fund and affordability; and
• Other needs and shortfalls.

Thereby enabling the three core sections of a Genovo report (Introduction, Client Risk Profile and Important information) to be completed in seconds!

Configurable AI prompts

Gena document upload is meeting note provider agnostic – it has been designed to work “straight out of the box” with all the leading industry-specific meeting notetakers as well as the more general-purpose AI solutions.

However, if you need Gena to extract information differently for a particular field, you can customise the prompts that drive the extraction process. This provides you with complete flexibility to tailor the outputs to your company’s preferred style and requirements.

Available now ‘in beta’

Following months of internal ‘alpha testing’, Gena document upload has been released ‘in beta’ for all Genovo users and hence you’ll notice a new (optional) step when creating a report.

However, if you’d prefer not to use Gena document upload just yet, the feature can be easily deactivated for your company’s account via Account Settings.

Predictive benefits and features

Following user feedback, we’ve taken the concept of predictive plan charges and extended it to also cover the Benefits and Features steps in the following sections:

• Review of Existing Uncrystallised Pensions
• Review of Existing Crystallised Pensions
• Review of Existing Protection Plans

Please note, you will need to activate this feature for you and your other account users.

Automated selection of client classification

We’ve also harnessed the power of Gena to automatically categorise the client(s) and complete the Client Classification step.

We’ve always stressed the importance of ‘human-in-the-loop’ verification of data and outputs added or generated by AI, and hence we’ve extend the use of the orange coloured Gena notification icon throughout the Genovo app to clearly highlight when and where data has been added by Gena.

Please note, viewing and resaving the data for a particular field, advice option or plan record will clear the Gena icon.

Re-order client objectives

Although this isn’t strictly a Gena feature, it is closely related. We’ve added simple drag and drop functionality to the Client Objectives and Review of Client Objectives steps so you can easily re-order the advice options – irrespective of whether they’ve been automatically added by Gena or manually selected.

Other bits and pieces

We’ve also made changes to the following.

Attitude to Investment Risk step

We understand that some of our users would prefer to replay the client’s risk profile as a narrative within the text box at the bottom of the Attitude to Investment Risk or Review of Attitude to Investment Risk steps, rather than complete the ATR table.

And hence we’ve tweaked the standard report output so that if you do not complete the ATR table in either step, the table isn’t rendered in the report and your text will still flow in the context of the content around it, with the sense maintained.

Recommending an existing investment is placed into trust

Following user feedback, we’ve added a new Recommended Action – ‘Place into trust’ – into the Review of Existing Investments section. On selecting the recommended action, you will be prompted to select the trust type being recommended and this will trigger the inclusion of relevant content with your report. We’ve also added 9 new trust-related snippets into the section to facilitate this.

Let us know what you think

As with any release, we’re super keen to hear your feedback as we continue to develop and enhance the new Gena document upload functionality. We’d be particularly interested to hear whether there are any more steps / fields within the Genovo Report Builder that you think could be automatically populated using data extracted from the typical client meeting note.

Send us your provider illustrations

We believe the potential for Gena document upload is huge and hence we are already pushing forward with extending its reach to cover other documents from the advice process – next in line is provider illustrations.

Provider illustrations, as you’ll know, come in many different shapes and sizes. We have already started to train our models on the structure and format of illustrations from a variety of different providers, covering a range of different product types. However, we still need more! So, please do continue to send us example anonymised illustrations from your preferred providers as this will allow us to ensure the standard Genovo prompts and outputs are more closely tailored to your company’s requirements.
